Germantown Youth Futures is sponsoring a scrap metal drive. Everything from aluminum cans, old Christmas lights to an old snow blower! Bring it to the Germantown Police Department front parking lot where Industrial Recyclers will have a dumpster located in the southeast corner of the lot. All funds raised go towards shopping for the unfortunate families of the Germantown School District; Industrial Recyclers will match the amount of money raised for these 4 days. Germantown Recreation Department's 20th Annual Easter Egg Hunt (open to Germantown School District Children ages 1-7) Hop on over to Firemen's Park for the Eggciting Easter Egg Hunt. This event allows youngsters to search for candy, eggs and other surprises. The event is FREE to all participants. What to bring? Easter basket or bucket to collect eggs and candy. In case of inclement weather, hunt will be held at Kennedy Middle School, located next to Firemen's Park. No registration required; just show up.

A hot dog lunch will be served with an appearance by the Easter Bunny. Easter cupcake decorating will be assisted by Germantown Seniors. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Join us for a special egg hunt event! Each child will make his/her own egg hunt bag, then venture out to search high and low for hidden eggs. Prizes will be awarded to all participants. After the hunt, discover the wonders of Wisconsin’s egg-laying animals and color eggs using natural dyes. This event will appeal to the whole family. Earth Day Work and Learn at Riveredge Nature Center, 4458 County Hwy Y, Newburg, WI Cost: Free
Join the Riveredge staff for the eleventh annual Earth Day Work and Learn in activities that promote the health of our community and planet. Prepare the beds and plant cool weather crops in the organic garden, work as a Habitat Healer and conduct grounds clean-up and invasive species eradication, spruce up our trails by trimming and chipping them, or split and stack wood for our maple sugarin’ programs. Some indoor activities are also planned. A spaghetti lunch will be served at noon. After the work is done, join Senior Naturalist, Mandie Zopp, for a presentation on bats and the bat monitoring project. Adrenaline Marathon on the Eisenbahn Trail; Full Marathon, 1/2 Marathon & 1/4 Marathon. The Eisenbahn Trail is a 25-mile trail extending from the historic city of West Bend into the glacial countryside of Wisconsin. The trail is surfaced with limestone screenings however racers will start and finish the event on 1.5 miles of paved asphalt. The course is USATF Certified Boston Marathon Qualifer. Proceeds from this event benefit the programs and services of Elevate, Inc. (the combination of the Council on AODA and Nova Services) Deadline to register is 4/24/14.
