Annual fundraiser for The Threshold, Inc. serving individuals with disabilities in Washington County.  Second Prize: $1,500; Third Prize: $800; Fourth through 10th Prizes: $100.  Tickets are on sale now with drawing to be held on April 10th; need not be present to win.    Tickets are available locally at the Germantown Chamber of Commerce office, W156 N11251 Pilgrim Road, Lower Level of Chase Bank, Germantown, WI 53022, 262-255-1812.  Tickets: 1 for $20; 3 for $50; 7 for $100.

Riverside Brewery, 255 S Main St, West Bend Is your Home Brew the best? Enter your home brew in Washington County Historical Society’s second Home Brew Contest. Three barrels of winning recipe will be made by Riverside Brewery and sampled at Brew-HaHa 2012 in September. Register by 4:30 pm on April 13 and pay only $20 for the first recipe! Late registration is $30 for the first recipe. Each additional recipe is $10 each, with a maximum of three entries per person. Sorry, no lagers or bocks. Find out the history behind this status when Wisconsin author, oral historian and former dairyman Ed Janus talks about his recent book, "Creating Dairyland".   Janus will explore how so much of the country's dairy industry became concentrated in our backyard over 150 years ago.
