SUMMARY:Kettle Moraine Symphony presents Elgar\, Grainger and Brahms
DESCRIPTION:Light and Dark: Comparing Selections from Elgar\, Grainger and Brahms\n\nFor Wisconsin residents such as ourselves\, the end of February is a time of "both and." It's both cold AND yet you might catch a whiff of warm spring air. It's winter and yet we all know March\, and hopefully spring with it\, are right around the corner. It's a time for layers\, weather apps\, and maybe planning some spring projects. It's so "iffy" that we leave weather predictions in February up to a large rodent. When you attend February's concert\, your ears will enjoy what your layers of cardigans and our beloved groundhog have been telling you: there is both light and dark everywhere in our daily life.\n\n\n\nBoth Elgar's Serenade for Strings and Grainger's Lincolnshire Posie are light\, folksy pieces that will leave you feeling lighthearted with a spring in your step. But wait - Brahms's second symphony will snap you right back to winter with its gloomy melancholy.\n\nSee you on February 19th.\n\nHannah Muehlbauer\, Editor\n\n\n\n\n\nSaturday\, Feb. 19th\n\nPre-Concert Talk at 6:45 with\n\nDr. Peter Gibeau\n\nSlinger Performing Arts Center\n\nGrainger: Lincolnshire Posy (for Brass Choir)\n\nElgar: Serenade for Strings\n\nBrahms: Symphony No. 2\n\nGet tickets online or at the door (fee added to online purchases)\n\n$15 General Admission\, $3 for Students\n\nMasks requested
