WASHINGTON COUNTY GOVERNMENT CENTER\n\nWest Entrance Room 1019\n\n432 E WASHINGTON ST\, WEST BEND WI 53095\n\n\n\nComments from the public regarding the proposed elimination of the Washington County Commuter Express service provided by Washington County are welcome at the public meeting May 18\, 2023 starting at 6:00 pm at the Washington County Government Center\, Room 1019.\n\n\n\nWashington County Commuter Express Reductions: The service reduction is to eliminate all bus routes servicing the West Bend\, Richfield\, and Germantown Park and Ride lots. The Commuter Express would no longer service locations in Milwaukee County such as Marquette University\, Marquette University High School\, Milwaukee Regional Medical Center\, Clement Zablocki Veterans Administration Medical Center\, and Downtown Milwaukee.\n\n\n\nThe proposed elimination is being considered due in part to the decreased use of the service\, associated loss of revenue\, and the increase in the cost of the service. The service would cease on September 29\, 2023.\n\n\n\nThe Public Works Committee will make a recommendation to the Washington County Board. The Washington County Board could take the matter up at its June 14\, 2023 meeting. \n\n\n\nFOR INDIVIDUALS UNABLE TO ATTEND THE PUBLIC MEETING\, WRITTEN COMMENTS WILL BE ACCEPTED THROUGH MAY 11\, 2023.
