SUMMARY:Supporting LGBTQ+ Youth Special Presentation
DESCRIPTION:Limor Hendricks from The Youth and Family Project will explain why it is so critical to support the LGBTQ+ youth in our community and how we can make a difference in their lives.\n\nAccording to the 2022 Trevor Project Survey on LGBTQ Youth Mental Health\, "45% of LGBTQ youth seriously considered attempting suicide in the past year." That same survey reported significantly lower rates of attempted suicide in communities that are accepting of their LGBTQ community members. We know together we can be a supportive and welcoming community!\n\n\n\nDesigned for middle schoolers to adults\, this program can be an excellent way to demonstrate acceptance and allow for communication about respect in families.\n\n\n\nAs a leader in the community\, we hope that you will not only join us for these classes\, but help spread the word by inviting key members of your team as well as people in your broader network.
