The artifact collection at The Civil War Museum of Kenosha, Wisconsin, is filled with objects that tell wonderful stories about the soldiers, civilians, and the Upper Midwestern communities that participated in this period of American history. In this illustrated program, Civil War Museum Curator Doug Dammann will share some of these amazing artifact stories and use them to teach the audience about the importance of Wisconsin and the Upper Midwest during the Civil War. About our guest presenter: Mr. Doug Dammann has worked at the Civil War Museum of Kenosha, WI, for 13 years. He holds a master’s degree in historical administration from Eastern Illinois University and a bachelor’s degree in history from Kalamazoo College. Before coming to Kenosha, Doug had professional stops at The National Air and Space Museum, The National Museum of Civil War Medicine, and the College Football Hall of Fame. He lives in Kenosha with his wife Holly and two kids, Andrew and Charlotte.
