  • Chamber History

Leaders in the Germantown business community felt local businesses were struggling due to a general lack of awareness.  In the summer of 1981, the Germantown Chamber of Commerce was formed to help promote the community and businesses in the area, with a total of 30 members.  The Marine Bank, (currently Chase Bank) located on Pilgrim & Mequon Road generously granted space to the Chamber in their lower level for many years.  In November of 1981, the famous Germantown Christmas parade was created by members of the Chamber, and today the Christmas parade has grown into a grand festival.

For 20+ years, Leadership Germantown was an integral non-profit program in the community.  Both the Leadership Germantown Board of Directors and the Chamber worked together to bring Leadership Germantown under the Chamber of Commerce.  The Class of 2024 became the first class to graduate under the Chamber of Commerce led program that is run by a committee of alumni and former board members and the Chamber office.

In 2024, the Germantown Area Chamber of Commerce moved out of the lower level of Chase Bank and into their own office on Mequon Rd.  Equipped with a welcome area, meeting space, offices, and a board room, the new business space on a major thoroughfare in Germantown will help the Chamber become a visible resource for the citizens, business community and visitors to the area.

As one of Wisconsin’s fastest growing communities, the Germantown Chamber continues to keep pace with the dynamic world of business by helping business leaders connect and collaborate.

Your Germantown Chamber ~ your gateway to business!
