GERMANTOWN AREA SCHOOLS

PUBLIC SCHOOLS: K-5, 6-8, 9-12; PRIVATE SCHOOLS

The Germantown School District incorporates all of the Village of Germantown, all of the Town of Germantown, the eastern third of the Town of Richfield, the southeast corner of the Town of Polk and the southern third of the Town of Jackson. Current enrollment in the district is 3,611 students.

The four elementary schools, Amy Belle, County Line, MacArthur and Rockfield have a combined enrollment of 1,603 students. Kennedy Middle School, which experienced a major expansion in 1998, currently has an enrollment of 789 students. Germantown High School, which had its own expansion of academic and extracurricular facilities in 1998/99 currently has an enrollment of 1,219 students. Parents within the district rate public education in Germantown very highly. Standards of excellence have been set not only for academics, but for extracurricular activities and sports competition.

Germantown is currently served by St. Boniface Catholic Grade School, offering pre-Kindergarten classes through Grade 8. Trinity Lutheran Grade School, one mile over the border to the east in Mequon, also serves the Germantown area. Other private Catholic and Lutheran grade schools and prep schools are also available just south of Germantown in the Village of Menomonee Falls.
