  • FEMA DISASTER ASSISTANCE APPLICATIONS OPEN

    WEST BEND, WI – President Donald Trump announced a presidential disaster declaration for Wisconsin, approving $29.8 million in federal aid to help recover from the severe storms and flooding in August.

    County Executive Josh Schoemann said, “I am pleased to see how quickly the disaster declaration was issued so our families and business impacted by the flooding can apply for some relief. It can be difficult to be patient for what can often be a long process, and I thank the President, Governor Evers and FEMA’s review with state and local teams for their efficient work.”

    To apply for FEMA disaster assistance for those impacted by the recent flooding, please go to: https://www.disasterassistance.gov/.  That site also includes a FAQ: https://www.disasterassistance.gov/help/faqs.

    Key information is needed for the application:

    • Contact information.
    • Email address.
    • Address at the time of the disaster and the address where they are now staying.
    • Their Social Security number.
    • A general list of damage and losses.
    • Banking information if they choose direct deposit.
    • If insured, the policy number or the agent and/or the company name.
